At a glance

  • Everything Anti-Theft Kit records stays on your phone.
  • We have no servers. We never receive your photos, sound clips, or alert log.
  • No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.
  • Google Play handles payments. We never see your card details.
  • You choose how long evidence is kept, and you can delete it at any time.

Who we are

Anti-Theft Kit is an app for Android, made by Ironveil, an independent developer based in the United Kingdom. In this policy, "we" means Ironveil and "the app" means Anti-Theft Kit.

What the app keeps on your phone

To protect your phone, Anti-Theft Kit saves some information. All of it is saved in the app's private storage on your phone. Other apps cannot read it, and it is not sent to us.

InformationWhen it is made
Intruder photosWhen someone enters a wrong PIN, pattern, or password. Also when someone unlocks with your code, if you turn on "Snap code unlocks".
Sound clipsA 10-second recording with each intruder photo, if the microphone setting is on.
Alert logA list of events: snatches, intruder photos, and alarms, with the date and time.
SettingsYour choices in the app, such as sensitivity, alarm delay, and theme.

How long it is kept

  • You choose to keep evidence for 1 week, 1 month, or 2 months. The default is 2 months. Older events, photos, and sound clips are deleted automatically.
  • You can delete any photo, or clear the whole alert log, in the app at any time.
  • Uninstalling Anti-Theft Kit deletes everything it saved.
  • Anti-Theft Kit turns off Android backup, so its data is not copied to your Google account.

Permissions and why we ask

PermissionWhat it is used for
Device adminTo lock your screen when the phone is snatched or the alarm is armed, and to notice wrong unlock attempts. Anti-Theft Kit uses only these two device-admin abilities. It cannot erase your phone or read your PIN.
CameraTo take intruder photos with the front camera. The back light may flash if you turn on the flash setting.
MicrophoneTo record a short sound clip with each intruder photo. You can turn this off.
Motion sensorsTo spot a snatch, and to notice when an armed phone is moved. Sensor readings are checked on the phone and never saved.
BiometricsOnly to ask Android when the phone was last unlocked with your PIN, pattern, or password (Android 15 and newer). Anti-Theft Kit never receives fingerprints, face data, or your code.
NotificationsTo tell you when there was an alert, and to show that protection is running.
Run in background and at start-upSo protection keeps working when the app is closed and after the phone restarts.
InternetUsed only by Google Play to manage your subscription. Anti-Theft Kit itself sends nothing over the internet.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your information, because we never receive it.

Evidence leaves your phone only when you tap Share on a photo. You choose where it goes, for example email or a chat app. After that, the privacy policy of the app you chose applies.

Payments

Anti-Theft Kit is a subscription with a free trial. Google Play handles sign-up, payment, renewal, and cancellation. We never see your name, email address, or card details. Google Play tells the app only whether your subscription is active. Google's use of your information is covered by the Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy).

Photos and recordings of other people

Anti-Theft Kit may photograph and record the voice of anyone who handles your phone. Use it only on a phone that you own or are allowed to protect. Laws about photographing and recording people differ between countries. You are responsible for using Anti-Theft Kit in a lawful way.

Children

Anti-Theft Kit is not made for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. Because Anti-Theft Kit keeps everything on your phone, we hold no personal data about you. You stay in control of it in the app. If you have a concern, contact us first. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If we change how Anti-Theft Kit handles information, we will update this page and its effective date. We will mention important changes in the app's update notes.
